Sinopsis

Regenerative endodontics is a revolutionary approach in dentistry focused on restoring the structure and function of dental pulp through biological processes. By utilizing the body?s natural healing potential, it offers a transformative solution for treating pulp injuries and tooth vitality loss.Regenerating the dentin-pulp complex involves vascularization, new odontoblast formation, mineralized dentin production, and proper innervation. While research has largely centered on younger patients with abundant stem cell populations, there is a growing need for solutions tailored to adults with non-vital teeth.Regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) integrate stem cells, scaffolds, and growth factors to restore pulp vitality, strengthen root walls, and support root development. Emerging cell-free approaches, using endogenous cells and dentin-derived growth factors, provide a safer and promising alternative.Despite ethical considerations around stem cell use, advancements in biology and biotechnology are rapidly paving the way for routine tooth regeneration, heralding a new era in dental care with minimally invasive and highly effective treatments.
