Sinopsis

Bone Anchored Maxillary Expander is an advanced orthodontic technique designed to achieve skeletal expansion of the maxilla in patients with transverse maxillary deficiency, especially in late adolescents and adults. Unlike conventional rapid palatal expanders that rely on dental anchorage, MARPE utilizes mini-implants or TADs placed in the palate to directly transmit expansion forces to the mid-palatal suture. This method minimizes dentoalveolar tipping and maximizes skeletal changes. It effectively separates the palatal suture, enhancing orthopedic outcomes without the need for surgical assistance. MARPE has become an effective alternative to surgically assisted expansion, offering increased stability and control during transverse maxillary correction.
