Sinopsis

This study explores the mechanical properties of Aluminium 7075 (Al7075) alloy reinforced with copper metal powder (0-2% by weight), designed for gear applications in the automotive industry. The composite materials were fabricated using high vacuum casting, ensuring uniform distribution of reinforcement particles. Wear behavior was evaluated under lubricated conditions using a multi-sample wear tester. The incorporation of copper powder significantly enhanced key mechanical properties, with bending strength increasing from 329 MPa to 499 MPa, tensile strength improving from 232 MPa to 396 MPa, and impact resistance rising from 20 kJ/m² to 69 kJ/m².
